SEO On Meta Tags

SEO On Meta Tags - Anyone who has learned the basics of SEO has come two little words - meta tags. Some argue that meta tags are important, while others reject its use altogether. Here's what you should know about meta tags, their importance and use meta tags.

Back in the early days of search engine optimization (SEO), ranking each website given in the search engine is very dependent on factors optimization in place. These factors include, first and foremost, meta tags and header tags, keyword density, and so forth.

As search engines have evolved, they moved the weight of these factors in place and to factors outside the site (and also a number of other minor factors). For this reason, meta tags are no longer heavy, but of course still serves a very important function.

Meta tags are broken into three types of tags - "title", "keywords" and "description". We will look at all three separately.

The title tag is what appears in the actual header of an Internet browser (either Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari). This tag is considered the most important of the three and the best keywords used to reflect the page that attempts to get ratings. This tag also appears as the title tag in search results, so make sure that it includes keywords, and copy interesting to attract the attention of the seeker! Keep in mind that search engines will only display a certain length of the title, so try to keep your titles to seven words or less.

Keyword tag is quite clear. This is used to reflect the keywords that best describe the page itself. Best practice to insert a key word in this tag, in order of most importance to the interests of the lowest - separated by commas. There is debate about how many keywords you should or should not be used in this tag, but the best is still less than six separate keywords or phrases. More importantly, make sure that the contents of each page is to reflect the selected keywords (for example, try to use keywords in page content as well).

The last of the tags meta description tag. This tag is what is reflected in your tag to the search engine results (although some search engines mix and match this with other information). You should see this tag as an opportunity to lure visitors to your Web site, so try to make it as attractive as possible, and sprinkle your keywords throughout the copy if possible. The ideal length for this tag is 15 - 25 words.

Summarizing the long and short meta tags. As mentioned, although they do not become heavy, they still become an important tool in webmaster tool kit. Make sure that you make to adjust the meta tags for each page on your Web site, and do not be afraid to get creative about how to write your copy for a description tag!...
